Arete Project - Blue Ridge Session (2019)

Arete Project, where I received a scholarship to pursue nontraditional education on a farm in rural North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Session is an intensive, residential eight-week summer program for college-age women, based on the campus of Arthur Morgan School in Celo, North Carolina.

The program offers a unique opportunity for young women to prepare themselves for lives of dedicated service and leadership. Based around the three pillars of academics, labor, and self-governance, education at the Arete Project engages students in body and mind towards the fulfillment of this mission.

Intellectual rigor, maturity, diligence, and generosity are expected of all students. Read more here. Contributed communications work and we co-created a zine to culminate program.

#BastaTexas Volunteer (Aug 2017)

The #BastaTexas is an open-source framework that serves to unify, connect, and strengthen collective platform to connect and uplift diverse Texas local, regional and statewide strategies to push back against the right-wing, white supremacist and anti-immigrant agenda advancing in Texas.

I was recruited to help out with this campaign in Texas. I outreached to students and staff in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I attended a number of convivencias, community meetings and events, to build community and solid networks. My main role in team was graphic design, social media outreach, and support for cultural strategy.
