Tending the Soil

Building the conditions for liberation to bloom; here, now, you and me

somos bendiciones y oraciones de amor

I commune with the stars; they are my companions, my loudest cheerleaders, and my guides. The stars have guided me on what to offer, how to offer it, and have let me know this is the time. I offer all these gifts with all the care, love, and connection I have.

We must always be building toward collective health, collective wealth, and collective liberation. All my offerings are in the practice of the gift economy. The gift economy is a tool and practice to build collective wealth. When I say wealth, I mean all kinds of wealth; not just financial. Physical, social, mental, time, knowledge, and many more.

There are two sayings that have been etched and stretched in my heart that encompass the feeling of the gift economy. I carry this quote in my pocket as a note and reminder: “We can all have everything we need if we all give everything we have.” The second is from a summer program that took place in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina: “A home in your heart is a weapon in your hand.”

I’ve been offering my gifts as gifts for my family, friends, and friends of friends for a while now and want to invite all of us to decolonize the relationship we have with resources, each other, and ourselves.

TRANSPARENCY

I value transparency, honesty, reciprocity, and vulnerability in my practice of the gift economy. This is one practice on the road to getting free while centering community, trust, and mutual aid in sustainable and cooperative ways.

🧿 In 2024, I’m returning to finishing my degree after being pushed out of the university by my abuser. After eight years of taking time to heal, I’ve regained my life and myself back. I’ve spent my twenties in isolation - first, by chronic sickness, then by healing, and finally, with the COVID-19 pandemic. I value authentic connection, accessibility in seeing and accepting ourselves where we are in our journey, and planting the seeds for our abundant future. I hope to cover some part of my tuition and college expenses through these offerings.

🌱 To cover my tuition, this comes out to an average of $70 per reading with 2 offerings per week.

👀 Most astrologers charge a range between $150-250+ for similar services.

📝 I spent 2-3 hours preparing and our time together is 1 hour.

💫 Given this information, I leave it to you how much you offer. I completely trust you and your decision.

I take donations through Zelle (brendagutierrezmora@gmail.com) or Venmo (@BIGAGKILLS).

My offerings are the sum of my experiences, knowledge, training, resilience & survival. The gift economy is an invitation to build the networks of collective care, health, and wealth.

🌞 Satiated Sundays 🌞

“If we hope to save our species, and to have human life on this planet, we have to learn from within how to live lives of satisfaction. We must practice how to move from a deep, sated, and respectful relationship to ourselves—in which we honestly articulate our needs and generate compassion for our choices—into a deep, satisfiable, and respectful relationship to anyone else. “ - adrienne maree brown, murmurations: love looks like accountability

This is a free offering to my communities: migrant, disabled, chronically ill, first-generation, queer, trans, sexual assault survivors, college drop-outs, burnt out organizers, community college students, from or grew up in an unincorporated community in the San Joaquin Valley. We deserve the world. The systemic barriers in accessing mental and spiritual health resources in this region are felt by everyone and affect all of us. We can build networks of community, care, and accountability together.

These are 30-minute readings every last Sunday of the month. All of my offerings are available during those 30 minutes, any question, or the astro-weather forecast.

I’m making a commitment to 2023 to move from a deeply satiated place. Capitalism thrives on us feeling empty, unsatisfied, unfulfilled, or “doing things wrong”.

Here are the people, places, and things that have inspired these offerings.

Gifts

Money is just an exchange of energy. Holding this, I also accept alternative forms of donations in time or items I myself, my family and communities need. Here are a few:

1) Adopt my web-hosting bill: $192

2) Pay my tuition monthly payment: $150

3) Donation (clothes, money, time) to Ocho Semillas and other emerging mutual aid projects supporting San Joaquin Valley communities (Merced Farmworker Fund, Voices of the Central Valley, Central Valley BIPOC Coalition, let me know of others!)
